# Silicon Valley will always be the best place for SaaS and Consumer Software In the same way that companies never give up their dominance in a specialization (like IBM and mainframes), places never stop being the go-to for a specialization (like Silicon Valley and software). It’s just that in both cases, the specialization becomes more relevant to the world. Silicon Valley has managed to specialize in multiple waves of things - first transistors, then database software, internet hardware, consumer software, enterprise SaaS, and now deep learning.
