# Organizations run by practitioners have less bureaucratic bs The missing BS may be in part because they “get it.” It might be in part because they have better pattern matching and need fewer rules to say what is dangerous or not. ( [[Explicit rules are a substitution for learned pattern matching]].) This fact is one reason why [[People who have done a thing should be in charge of a thing]]. Another way to look at this is that practitioners (often) have better heuristics for which other practitioners to trust, they don’t need to lean on rigid rules and processes. [[Bureaucracies remove the need for trust]].
