Most people are not malicious or stupid

It’s easy to chalk badness in the world up to one or more people being either malicious or stupid. While stupidity or malice absolutely could be the root cause of a problem, they should be the last resort for several reasons.

The major upshot of this assumption is that if there is a systemic problem, it cannot be attributed to malice or stupidity.

This makes explaining bad things in the world harder.
