# Modularization enables the higher level technology to improve continuously even if pieces improve discretely
As long as you continue to supply electricity with the right frequency that can handle enough amperage, the plug in the wall doesn’t care one bit if you rip out the coal plant and replace it with nuclear or solar.

It’s easy to think that two technologies have been successfully modularized but then it turns out that they actually have just coevolved.
This suggests a question for the[[Design for roadmapping system]] - “If this piece were changed, would any other pieces need to change?”
