# Heuretic is a better word than innovation
The term innovation has a lot of baggage attached to it. Especially around impact. Me cutting my hair in a different way than everybody else and being weird is not an innovation. If everybody in the world copies that haircut, it’s probably an innovation.
Heuretic is a baggage-free term. Let’s try to keep it that way. (Other options are [epheuresis](https://twitter.com/irinimalliaraki/status/1253723033942011904) and [kainotomia](https://twitter.com/irinimalliaraki/status/1253732291484045314) but I like heuretic better
Heuretica are nodes in the [[§Tech Tree Model of Heuretics]]
