# Good connectors nurture the connections
We often hear that key people in history and just generally awesome people are or were “great connectors” (Ben Franklin, etc.) This feels at odds with the modern/SV instantiation of connecting people - “A meet B, B meet A” and then disappearing. Often the conversations are sort of awkward and don’t lead anywhere. My hypothesis is that “connector” has become a bit of a [[Suitcase Handle Word]]. We replicate the seen piece: introducing people to each other, but my hunch is that there is actually a massive unseen piece where a good connector nurtures the connection and makes it grow.
