# Emails should have explicit social norms
Not following the norms should be considered extremely gauche.
* [[All introductions should be double opt in]]
* If you are asking for an introduction, send a forward able email.
* Introduction emails look like
`Subject: Alice (optional org) <> Bob (optional org)`
`Alice, `
`Please meet Bob. He is <context on Bob including why Alice should want to talk to Bob> `
`<link to Bob’s LinkedIn or other profile>`
`Bob,`
`Please meet Alice. She is <context on Alice is including why Bob should want to talk to Alice> `
`<link to Alice's LinkedIn or other profile>`
`<Optional suggestion of who should follow up with whom to make the power dynamic clear like> Bob, you should see if there's a good time for you to chat with Alice.`
`You both have context, so I’ll let you take it from here`
`Best`
`<yourname>`
* If you suggest that you should talk or meet up *give several possibilities*
* If you agree on a time to meet *send a calendar invite*
