# Do weird stuff with tenure pledge Professors with tenure should do more weird stuff. You are literally unfirable. What if there was something similar to the Founder’s pledge where tenure-track professors signed a pledge to do weird things to address the known problems with academia once they have tenure. Obviously it would be unenforceable, but it could be a little “memento mori” whisper. And you still need to keep your grad students funded. So maybe it should be to write a letter to your future self.
