# Centralized coordination sometimes stops effort from being repeated in smart ways
It makes sense not to repeat effort so [[‘Someone is working on that’]] is a common reason to stop repeated effort.
The solution to this is to say why what you’re doing is precisely different than another effort. This another reason why [[Creating tight problem definitions is valuable]]
Organizations need a way to avoid saying “this idea is bad forever” but then you don’t want people doing the exact same failed thing. There’s a tension here.
