# Bridge Model of Knowledge You could think of human knowledge is like a bridge. The extent of the [[Knowledge frontier]] is like the depth of the water. When we collectively knew little about the world, the pylons were quite shallow and one person had enough bandwidth to go deep on multiple pieces. Now we have pushed out into much deeper water. We need literally layers of specialists just for people on the roadway to touch the bottom.
